Scottish Country Dancing

Scottish Country Dancing is the modern form of the traditional 18th century social dancing of Scotland. Danced in groups of dancers called “sets” to the lively music of Scotland – Reels, Jigs and Strathspeys – it is suitable for people of all ages from 6 to 90.

Dancers do not need to bring a partner, do not need to be Scottish and do not need to wear Scottish dress.

SCD is popular all over the world and there are clubs in New Zealand from Northland to Southland
